Amelia, a recent A Broader View volunteer to Cusco Peru, was on a mission!
After settling into the orphanage project, Amelia and Brittany, another A Broader View volunteer, noticed that many of the girls at the orphanage needed glasees – an expense that the orphanage could not afford.
With the support of her families’ foundation, the Bruce and Mary Cook Foundation of Portland Oregon. Amelia secured an $1100 grant to provide eye care to the girls. With the help from the local A Broader View Coordinator Maria Elena optometrist check ups and glasses were provided to the young woman at the orphanage.
We appreciate the initiative and commitment of all of our volunteers, especially those like Amelia that go over and beyond to help the children that A Broader View works with on a daily basis.
