For the last 18 months A Broader View volunteers based in Mukono district of Uganda have been hosted by local families. With the expansion of the Uganda volunteer programs our local partners are constructing a volunteer home which can house multiple volunteers. This small house will be able to comfortably to accommodate 8 volunteers, and is a short walk to the local village school where our volunteers are working. A Broader View is fundraising to finished the work on the home like doors/windows, paint and furniture.
We hope to be able to host our first volunteer group in early 2012. In Mukono volunteers are teaching English at the village school and contributing to the community development project; farming, home repairs for the elderly, youth sports education, all at a grass roots level.
